No. The surgery is performed under local anaesthetic drops, so you won't feel pain. You may feel some pressure or see lights, but the procedure is comfortable for the vast majority of patients.
Most patients notice improved vision within 24-48 hours. You can return to most normal activities quickly, though you should avoid swimming and heavy lifting for 2-4 weeks. Full visual stabilisation takes 4-6 weeks.
While it's technically possible, we typically operate on one eye at a time, usually 1-2 weeks apart. This allows us to assess the first eye's result and optimise the second procedure.
